3 months of waiting…

AND we have our COUCH now! :)

Having a desk in the living room is nice so we can see the ocean while we work. :)

We sure are happy to have this view while sitting on couch.

We love love love our couch, but would NOT recommend for ANYONE to purchase furniture from West Elm unless you walk out of the store with it as they are a lot slower than they commit to AND the customer service is HORRIBLE!

We are sooo happy we picked this lighter gray to lighten up our place and it matches all of the white shutters/kitchen perfectly!!! Also that the lines are clean and so straight!

It couldn’t have arrived in more perfect timing as we had been planning on having friends over for the 4th for a couple of weeks and needed the extra seating! You never really realize how nice it is to have a place to sit and just be in your home with the ones you love until you are sitting on the floor a lot and in separate chairs while watching movies :)

We HAD perfect spots to see the fireworks from our balcony! So much fun!

Unfortunately it rained and STORMED most of the day so we hung out inside, played card games, watched the rain crash over the ocean and then got to ride our bikes when it stopped later in the evening! Per Cordie’s request I made pork shredded tacos with pineapple coleslaw for everyone and guacamole, pico de gallo and Becky brought her famous chip dip! It felt like what Floridians call a Hurricane party but thankfully there wasn’t one because we would have been the first to get hit being so close to the water!

We hope you had a wonderful celebration wherever you are!

Last year this time we were sweating in the streets of NYC… who knew it rained literally everyday in July in Florida.. Some days for just a couple hours but there were weeks it felt like it rained straight as our internet would cut in and out and we’d seek cafes to get our work done. :)

On a couple of days the rained stayed away I caddie for Cordie at a couple of courses…

Goodbye NYC

July Home

We cannot believe how fast this month has gone! Some days feeling like we did waaaay too much for our bodies to handle and the others being able to just wander around this beautiful city. This past week I got to catch up with a good friend and her sister from Perth, WA a couple times and I am soooo incredibly grateful for those moments!

One day we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and then had a 2 hr+ catch up on life in a cafe and then the last time I got to see them we were in Washington Square Park (above pictures) which we hadn’t been to yet and absolutely loved the atmosphere as there was all kinds of funny free entertainment going on around us!

I met Kerri when I was on staff with YWAM Perth, and had the privilege of being her outreach leader to Jakarta, Indonesia, Namibia and Botswana over a 3 month period. She is one of a kind, gracious, full of life and an aspiring girl! Love her to pieces. :) And can’t wait to see her again in Australia someday.

Spending time with the aussies girls, we also FINALLY went to a restaurant in Soho founded and run by a group of Aussie ‘blokes’ and they have AMAZING food. Cordie has even gone to the point where it has been his ‘favorite’ meal here in NYC! They are known for their Australian type coffee and burgers! Our first experience I had a salad and he had pasta….it being soo good we went back today for our ‘last’ meal here in Manhattan and had a chicken burger (with my fav sweet chili sauce) and Cord got a typical Aussie burger with beets, a fried egg, pineapple and a bunch of other goodness. All with a lovely non-alcoholic Ginger Beer (with is similar to Ginger Ale just with more of a Ginger Zing).

These last few days were ‘double’ dip days as we found our fav gelato place, Mo il gelato and went there twice as well! (it only being a short walk from where we are staying it is good we didn’t discover it until now otherwise I know we would have spent too much money there) They make their gelato FRESH every morning! If you are ever in Little Italy, Manhattan it is a must go too!

We loved every minute of our time here in NYC and LOVED all the time I could spend with my sister Elizabeth! I am so thankful for her and proud of what she is doing and what her future holds! Love you ita! Will miss being your roomie sooo much!

Greenport, NY

Quick Recap of our MiniVaca

This past week we had the privilege of spending three days out on Long Island with my parents and sister. They drove to NYC to visit my sister during some time off of work she had-so we accepted the offer to join them and getaway from the city for awhile! With minimal internet access and being able to see the ocean from our bed it was a very relaxing trip. The hotel had a large lawn with seating and then a private walkway down to the water.

Our first full day there was sunny, warm, and we took advantage of soaking it up! However, like the good state of New York has taught us over this past month the weather is bipolar and changes constantly!

Greenport, NY is a small quaint town with little cafes and ice cream parlors on the two main streets all right along a pier. We had the most amazing lunches at a Cheese Emporium two different days as they had so many choices.
