Cordie’s conference went all day and into the evening so we snuck in a few hikes in between his sessions and enjoyed some very nice coffee.

A highlight was seeing these elk along the road…

Our first night in Boulder we had dinner with one of Cordie’s work colleagues at this amazing Tea House… the food was soo good.

Going from winter back to fall was kind of cool and we were thankful to be able to experience Autumn and see the leaves changing for a few days.

Running errands and being able to see the mountains was quite spectacular

Hiking…

…become our new favorite ‘work’ break while we were here… The day after it snowed heavily we took about an hour and a half to hike up a mile to a nearby trail called the ‘Broome Hut’2014-10-28 11.01.50

Thankfully the trail was pretty ‘moderate’ so we could still climb in our ‘city’ boots.

The climb down we took our time and played in the snow…

As you can see there was a lot more snow than it looks like from pictures…

Cordie was really hoping for snow fall on the actual day of our Anniversary… and was thrilled when we ended up being ‘snowed’ in all day as 5-6 inches fell and the roads stayed covered up until time for us to grab a nice dinner.

As you can see it was absolutely stunning even covered in snow…

It was nice being “stuck” indoors all day. :)

We both enjoyed yummy steaks… brussel sprouts… and some amazing cheesecake for dessert.

It was a quiet day but absolutely perfect.

Our Two Year Anniversary

We flew into Denver on Saturday night… made the 2+ hour drive to the Fraser Valley area where we stayed for a few days before Cordie’s work conference in the Boulder area.

The condo is just what we were hoping for…

The condo had tall ceilings… windows everywhere… a hot tub outside the master bedroom… nice quiet office upstairs I worked from everyday.

The fireplace was a nice treat with comfortable furniture and a wi that Cordie and I played Mario Kart on in the evenings. :)

The view we got to wake up to every morning in Fraser:

Being with my handsome husband for his first time to see REAL mountains (other than from the Denver Airport on our way to our honeymoon in 2012) in life I feel is a great privilege. :)

We went for a hike on Sunday to reach a place called the ‘Devils Thumb’ the mountain ended up being covered in snow at the top so we weren’t able to actually see the thumb but the view… hiking experience… just Cordie and I in the outdoors was definitely worth it!

Where we stopped for a breather was probably about 11,000 ft above sea level and we could most definitely feel the altitude! It was breathtaking all the same.

We were really excited to reach snow at the top… and take a short break before heading back down the mountain.

These past two years seem like they have flown by… as I still remember in great detail the hours… days… and weeks before our big day!  It was a nice Sunday to celebrate our marriage.
